Top quality dry red wine from the controlled designation of origin of Baranja Vineyards, bottled in 0.75 liter bottles and sealed with a natural cork.

Vineyard

Exposition: Karanačka planina (mountain).All vineyards on that exposition were planted in 2004. Rows are on slopes and oriented North/South at altitude of 220 metres. Between rows the grass was planted.

Harvest and Growth Cycle of Grapevines

Grapes were harvested from October 10 to 30, 2008. The good viticultural conditions and vegetative cycle of grapevines in 2008 resulted in the excellent quality of the harvested grapes with the pronounced varietal characteristics.

Vinification

Fermentation together with maceration in Inox fermentation vats lasted for 8 to 10 days, malolactic fermentation in tanks. Ageing lasted for 6 to 10 months in large oak barrels.

Cellaring

It can be enjoyed now or kept. The wine shall continue its development in the bottle for minimum 5 years.

Tasting Notes

Wine has very deep ruby colour which immediately points to a complex wine. On the nose there is intensive and noble fruity scent dominated by sour cherries, cherries and black fruits. Wine is harmonious, powerful, with fine acids and fresh. Wine is blessed with smooth yet ripe tannins; it is savory and well balanced. Wine is elegant and ready for cellaring. Matching food includes red meat, game, powerful ripe cheeses and Kulen (a local fermented sausage) – which is a solid foundation to enjoyment of this wine served at 18 to 20 degrees Celsius. Alcohol is 13.8%.
